Tuscany & Umbria Music Tours
Perform Concerts in Beautiful Churches and Squares in Tuscany and Umbria
Countless stunning hill towns all over Tuscany and Umbria with enclosed squares, churches and cathedrals ideal for concerts.
Tuscany and Umbria are very popular with all types of group. Bands, orchestras and choirs work well in piazzas whilst sacred and classical music groups (usually choirs and orchestras) work particularly well in churches and cathedrals. We are also able to arrange participation in Mass for choirs in prestigious Basilicas, such as the Basilica of St Francis in Assisi and occasionally St Peter’s in Rome for those willing to travel a bit further.
Concerts in squares take place in the summer months when there is an appreciative audience, the area being such a popular tourist attraction. Indoor concerts can be arranged throughout the year.
Local festivals are another possibility. Many of our concerts are part of a series of concerts organised by local cultural organisations and have substantial publicity behind them. These attract regular music lovers together with the many tourists.

Music performance venues in Tuscany and Umbria
Tuscany and Umbria have many hill towns providing an exciting variety of venues each with their own appeal, ranging from intimate to awe inspiring. Between the myriads of Medieval and Renaissance squares, churches and cathedrals, performers are spoiled for choice.
Perugia Cathedral is a large venue which can hold any number of performers and up to 400 audience members. It is a well known and popular concert venue and features in local music festivals. Performers have been welcomed here by the local mayor and often play to a full house. In the summer months concerts sometimes take place on a large stage in front of the Cathedral in the Piazza 4 Novembre, a perfect performing spot with great ambiance and high foot fall.
Majestic Fifteenth Century Cathedral in Perugia’s central square
Magnificent Basilica comprising of two churches, both decorated with splendid late medieval frescoes by numerous artists. It was built in honour of the local saint shortly after his canonization in 1228 and has now become a place of pilgrimage. Thousands of people visit the basilica every day and it is a privilege to have the opportunity to perform in a mass (or maybe an evening concert) surrounded by Giotto frescoes depicting the life of St Francis.
Basilica St Francis of Assisi
One of the oldest examples of the Gothic style in Italy
Pope Pius II had his home village entirely rebuilt to create the ideal Renaissance town, Pienza. It sits in the middle of the Val D’Orcia, perhaps the most beautiful valley in Tuscany. We hold concerts in the central square which is considered one of the finest examples of urban Renaissance ideals. It is charmingly intimate but large enough to hold a good sized, appreciative audience. We can also arrange concerts in the Duomo, located in the same square.

Accommodation options in Tuscany and Umbria
Tuscany and Umbria have a wide range of accommodation options for all types of music tours. We have budget accommodation particularly suitable for youth / school groups in Chianciano Terme and more luxurious hotels for adult groups in Perugia and Assisi.
Our hotels in Chianciano Terme are all within walking distance to local shops, bars and restaurants and all have a pool, en suite facilities and rehearsal room. The food is of a high standard and can also accommodate particular dietary needs and packed lunches specific to each group’s requirements. Chianciano is near the main Florence to Rome motorway (A1) and so is convenient for travelling to excursions and concerts. Ideal for school and youth groups.
Typical Italian budget hotels with pool in Chianciano Terme
Hotels in Assisi or Perugia have more luxurious rooms and facilities which adult groups may prefer. Typically the facilities and food are exceptional and are of the standards expected from more premium hotels. Again, all dietary needs can be accommodated and guests can choose to stay on a bed and breakfast, half board or full board basis. These hotels provide an ideal base and are again conveniently situated for travel to all excursions and concerts.

There is a big water park near Grosseto which necessitates a full day trip or a small but charming one near Perugia which can be visited in combination with a nearby concert.
