Rome & Lazio
Sample Itinerary

Rome, capital of Italy, has, arguably, more to see than in any other city in the world, evident from the sheer weight of history.

There are medieval churches atop early Christian basilicas above Roman palaces; houses and apartment blocks incorporate fragments of eroded Roman columns, carvings and inscriptions; roads and piazzas follow the lines of classical amphitheatres and stadia, all found within a few paces of each other.

Beyond Rome is the region of Lazio, Castel Gandolfo, known as the summer retreat of the Pope, and the historic coastal town of Anzio complete with a beautiful stretch of beach and fishing port.

CONCERTS, EXCURSIONS AND ACCOMMODATION

Map of Italy

Concert venues in and on the outskirts of Rome are in abundance.  These include venues such as the Church of San Clemente, Chiesa Valdese, Villa Torlonia, participation in Mass at Santa Maria Maggiore, the Cathedral of Rocca di Papa and the church and main piazza in Castel Gandolfo.

Sights not to be missed in central Rome, amongst many others, include amazing structures such as the Colosseum, Santa Maria Maggiore, the Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, Trevi Fountain and, of course, the Vatican City.

Accommodation would be based in the fishing town of Anzio, just 40km south from central Rome.  The 3*/4* hotel is well placed within Anzio, has its own pool and is situated right next to the beach.  Adults would be in twin-bedded rooms, students in multi-bedded rooms. All rooms have toilet and bath or shower.
