This corner of eastern Germany contains what is regarded as Germany’s most beautiful city, Dresden. Virtually destroyed in bombing raids in early 1945 enormous efforts have been successfully made to rebuild it to its former glory.

Possible concerts include the beautiful Church of St. Maria by the Water, Mass at the Hofkirche Catholic Cathedral or an informal recital at Bach’s Church in Leipzig.

Cruise the River Elbe from the heart of the city towards the beautiful area known as Saxon Switzerland with its lush forests and spectacular hills or take time to visit the City of Dresden to include the Church of our Lady, the Zwinger Palace or just the night life.

To enjoy this area even further a visit to Leipzig is possible with the opportunity to visit St. Thomas Church, where JS Bach was Director of Music, the neighbouring Bach Museum, Mendelssohn House and much much more.
